Victor Baker's 200th custom guitar- built fall / winter 2007-08.

For this milestone project I decided on "classic with a twist". I've included some classic D'Angelico style elements in the split block inlay theme, as well as the D'A style sunburst. Other elements such as the flame maple binding and commemorative "No. 200" banner and engravings bring the guitar into the modern day and give the guitar a warmer vibe and refined theme.  The ebony appointments add that modern sleek touch. The woods I chose for the guitar are well aged and speak with a clear resonance. The Sitka soundboard has been aging since the early 80's and is extremely dry and well seasoned.The finish is classic nitrocellulose and imparts a beautiful warm luster the way only classic thin nitro can do. I am pleased with the results with No. 200, and I feel that it has a classy and elegant theme that is highly embellished but not overstated. Its voice is  clear and well balanced, and will make an excellent performing guitar as well as a classy addition to any collection.
